Pictures disappears

I am new to powerpoint 2003. When I put a transition on a picture, it
disappears when the transition is over. How do I stop it from doing
that?

Can you supply some more information on exactly what type of
transition/animation is being applied.

It happens with any animation. I'm using the custom animations and
entrance.

With PPT 2003 there are three primary types of animation; Entrance (green
icons), Exit (red icons), Emphasis (yellow icons). Can you verify you have
applied an Entrance animation (will have a green icon in the animation pane)
vs. an exit animation?

Could you have somehow selected "after animation > hide after animation" in
effect options??
