Pictures Are Not Displayed on Web Sites in Internet Explorer

I am using intnet explorer 6 in windows xp home edition.
When accessing web pages I can open or see pictures
perfectly at times and then I can't open any images. I
have tried some solutions that I found such as checking
internet options to see if show pictures was highlighted,
I have set the security to minimal on the page, I have
emptied my temp files and I have checked that my encoding
is correct. None of these things help. Are there any
other suggestions I could try?
