Is the DPI the most important factor in how big a picture
displays on the web? Example being picture scanned at 300
dpi which has print size of about 3 x 4 inches displays
huge on page because of actual pixels. All monitors are
not the same--right? So size of picture will vary
according to what resolution that the monitor has? What do
you consider for size of picture on page?

Thanks!
Susan

Did you read my answer to your previous post? (And stay within the same
thread.) On the web we are dealing with pixels, not inches. If you're using
a scanned photo for the web scan it at 96 or 72 dpi unless it's quite small.
See the manual that came with your scanner or image editing program ... I
think you said Elements. Your's is not really a FrontPage Question ... but I
will be glad to help you.

Hi Susan,

For the web use 72 DPI...but if you want to keep a copy for printing
purposes..then scan higher and keep that version. Then convert it to 72 DPI
for web usage.
