Picture Preview settings

Hi,

I just recently installed WinXP and I also have a third party photo editor
(Photoshop).
Previously when I right clicked a photo or picture and selected preview it
would open quickly in the Windows preview screen.

However, since re-installing my preview opens in Photoshop, which takes ages
to open! How can I tell WinXP to give me a right click preview in the
preview window?

Stu,

Repair the file type associations using one of these fixes:

You can also try this:

1. Right-click on the picture file, point to Open With - Choose Program
2. From the list choose - Windows Picture and Fax Viewer and make a check
mark on "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file."
3. Apply the changes.

Hope this help, let us know!

Thanks, Raj,

I can change the application to open certain file types. What I need is for
Photoshop to open the files when double clicking them BUT the preview
application to open them if I right click and choose preview. For some
reason the chosen application also opens the files when preview is chosen.

Sorry for delay in response. A little bit busy in these days.

As you mention, I tried to find the way to change the application for
"Preview" but unfortunately there was none option.

So my advice is to use "Windows Fax and Picture Viewer" as default
application when you double click (as I mention in my previous post) and to
open the file right-click on file and choose Open With - Photoshop.

Hope this help, let us know!
