Picture over Video

Please help. I have about 10 minutes of captured video with an important
audio track on the video.

About 5 minutes in, I would like to put a picture over the video, yet allow
the video to keep running so as to allow the audio track to come through.

The effect I am looking for would be similar to a weather man. First the
camera is focused on him, then you continue to hear him talking but on your
TV you see a weather map.

Is this possible? Thanks

You need to cut the overlapped clip and place it in the Audio track while
placing the still picture in its place:

1. Change to Timeline View (ctrl-T) if not already in.
2. Drag your video from the Collections to the Video Track in timeline.
3. Move by playing the slider bar to the point where you want the cut to
start.
4. Press the Cut button under the preview screen to cut.
5. Move the slider to the end point of the cut and cut again.
6. Drag this middle piece from the Video Track to the audio track
7. Bring the still picture from Collection and place it between the two
clips in the Video Track where the cut piece was before.
8. Adjust the duration of the still picture by dragging the right edge so
that it matches the length of the audio clip in the Audio track.
