Picture Image is stripped and sent as email attachment

My logo image (.bmp) is stripped from the header, and sent as an attachment
when I email from Word. How do I keep it in the header as intended?
 
You have no control over how messages are viewed by the recipient so it is
pointless to try. If it is important that you send a formatted document then
output to pdf format using third party software and send that as an
attachment.
