Windows XP Picture and fax viewer

I am new to this so bare with me.
I have started using windows picture and fax viewer.
When I start viewing, images and pictures from recently viewed websites appear on the screen as I am scrolling through my images
I have deleted the browsing history on the tools tab, this works until I start viewing again.
Is there a way that the past history cannot be viewed
