Photoshop and Vista

Has anyone managed to get the demo version of Photoshop Elements to work on
a machine running Vista. I downloaded the evaluation version and it
"installed" but would not run claiming that there was a library missing. I
looked on the Adobe web site and they acknowledge that there is an issue
with Elements and Vistas and offer a download patch. The problem is that
the patch will not work with the evaluation version. They have not
responded to an email I sent them a month ago. Anyone else had a problem?
