when I design a page that has a photogallery on it and then save and close
it., when I reopen it instead of the photos themselves it just says there is
a photogallery there: [file:///C:/Documents and
Settings/Owner/Desktop/BL5/photogallery/photo00006933/real_p.htm]
Even after I close everything and preview it in a browser it says that
instead of having the photos. I want to see it just like other people will so
i can fix how it looks before I publish it. Thank you for any help you can
give me. I am a real novice, so basically I don't know what I am doing!
thanks, Sher

I can't tell for sure from your description of the
problem but it seems like you did NOT create a Front Page
web before jumping in to play with the photogallery
component. I say this based on the "C:" within the file
location you provided.

A Front Page web (basically a mirror image of your
published site to be) is created by File | Open | New
page or Web and then select web. Once you have done this,
create your photogallery.

Before you get too excited about the photogallery, know
that it has its limits. You can investigate them by
searching through this newsgroup. You don't say what
version of Front Page you are using but also note that
the photogallery component is unchanged in Front Page
2003.

1. Make sure you open a web before opening a page
2. All your photos must reside somewhere INSIDE your web before you create
a photo gallery.
3. Everything you create in a web has to be located in the web and not
pointing to your hard drive as in "file:///C:/Documents and
Settings/Owner/Desktop/BL5/photogallery/photo00006933/real_p.htm]
Except external links and stuff.
