2nd photogallery

I put up photogallery but don't see the larger images when click on image in
gallery template. I moved the images ie: "photos12345" into photogallery on
server but no large images came up after clicking on thumbnail.

The webpage I'm using is in a folder so it's not with all the other
webpages, ie: www.xyx.com/abc/def.html.

I then moved the photogallery into the abc folder and still had same result?

Do I have to create a photogallery2 Folder and the move all these images
into this folder.

And again can I put different sets of gallery photos into the same
photogallery with a previous gallery I had set up?

Please advise.

You have to import your images into a new folder for each, and then start the Photo Gallery
component to create the Photo Gallery based on the image in the new folder , you can not move you
photos around after you have created the Photo Gallery.

FP automatically saves new images into "Photogallery" Folder. Within that
folder, a new Folder was automatically created called ie: "Photo0001234" by
FP.
How would I import images into a new folder when FP automatically puts it in
new one?

Do you mean save the images before I get to the new photogallery folder part?
I know you said about new folder for each. I need to clarify so I want to be
as specific as possible because I tried all this and still no large image
came up after clicking thumbnail...I'm probably missing one step somewhere.

<You have to import your images into a new folder for each>
So I create another folder called "photogallery2" yes or no?
And save all my images I want to use in this folder? yes or no?

I know should this should be simpler but not sure why this isn't working as
you say.
I actually deleted and started new gallery and still same result.

Does it matter that my webpage is in a folder, www.xyx.com/abc/def.html, and
not with the rest of the html pages?

Thanks for the continued support. Once I get this right. It will be a good
weekend.

Pre-size your images prior to Importing them into FP, let's say 600px wide, then Import them into a folder in FP (call it whatever you want - I usually put them in a sub-folder of Images folder).

Import the pre-sized & Optimized images into FP folder.
Then on the page you want to create the photogallery on ... do so.
Choose the images for this new photogallery from the folder you created above.

Follow the prompts to create gallery.

Once done, FP will have created an arbitrarily named photogallery folder. Don't move it, don't rename it - some people may even say...don't even look at it ;-)

I did the samething you said for the first gallery and it worked fine. With
this new gallery, FP saved the photos in the same folder as the previous
gallery I put up. So I was confused when people were telling me to save
photos in different folder.

I think the only thing I did different between the page I'm putting this on
now is that the webpage is in a folder so I wasn't sure if FP reads it
differently.
www.xyx.com/abc/def.html

fyi - I didn't save the last gallery images in a separate folder before
inserting the photo gallery.

I had already imported the images, no need to resize, left as is. I think FP
automatically thumbnails them for you.

Any other tidbits would be helpful if comes to mind.
I will try this later as not at computer at moment.

Thanks again!

Thanks. I will look into it.

FP is supposed to be easy to work with and convenient and it seems there is
a bumpy road before getting things right. I would think the whole point of
having an editor like FP is to avoid these bumpy roads and not having to look
for alternatives. Why not have a JAlbum type gallery maker in FP.

Just a thought...
I will let you know how it goes.

Microsoft knew of all the problems with the Photo Gallery and chose to do
nothing about them in the most recent interation of the program. There needs
to be a warning on the box about everything that doesn't work!... or only
works with IE.
Read this and the first reference within that page:

Yes, we did but ....
What's the phone #? Free, of course. Please provide it.
But I bet they wont! I wouldn't think of calling them and probably sitting
forever holding the phone... especially when I know that they ignored the
problem with the latest version of FP.

Week after week new people come here with the same problems ... so I'll just
keep mentioning a happy alternative .... JAlbum, because who wants to just
see the larger images on an otherwise blank page (well, not even a page).
For most this FP component is worthless.
