Photo Story corrupt program files

New hard drive after a crash, everything up & running again except PS3.
Trying to save a new project produced an error message saying that PhotoStory
program files are corrupt & to reinstall. I performed a disk cleanup, ckdisk
& defrag, disabled my spyware & virus programs & redownloaded the .exe file
before performing a repair. No installation problems, but a test project
(just 3 photo files) still won't save, same error message. I uninstalled,
rebooted, made certain my spyware & virus were still disabled & reinstalled.
Again, minimal project, same error message "unable to save" because PS
program files corrupted.

I had successfully used Photo Story 3 with Sonic's DVD program for several
projects before my computer crashed. The Sonic plugin isn't currently
installed.

Help??

Maybe your video driver needs an update.

Also have a look at the following system
requirements. Maybe you need WMP10.

Thank you for the reply.
Updating the driver results in message that Windows could not find a better
match than what is installed. I have WMP10, but uninstalled, rebooted &
reinstalled WMP10 just in case that's where the problem is. Tried repair &
reinstall as before w/ spy & virus protection disabled. Still can't save,
same corrupted program files message. Any other ideas?

Have you solved your problem, yet? I have struggled with a similar problem
(see my posting on 3rd March) and have tried the same things as you without
success. What makes it crazier still is that I can still get a wmv file in
the normal way from an earlier wp3 still on my hard disk (I just put it
through the process over again, saving it with a different name). It's a
similar size and content to the one which refuses to be generated. So I am
wondering whether there is something about the wp3 file itself which produces
these messages about corrupt files, lack of storage space, lack of memory...
What can it be, though? I put a request in to Microsoft support and got a
nice e-mail back asking me to do a number of tests to establish the origin of
the problem, and I did them and reported them as asked, since when there's a
been a thunderous silence!

Jeremy, yes, I can save project now. Isn't far enough along to try saving to
DVD s/ Sonic plugin. What finally worked was reinstalling WMP10 WITHOUT
uninstalling it first. Maybe will work for you as well.
