photo story 3 playback problem

Whenever I try and playback a story the first picture appears then it just
goes blank and no other pictures appear.
anyone know how I can fix it?
 
Do you know what version of media player you have? WPS requires Windows
Media Player 10, but upgrading to 11 is a good idea. This will ensure you
have the codec you need.

Also, does this only happen on previews on when you generate the final movie
at the end of the wizard?
