Photo Story 3- Corrupt & Reload

Guest

Have been using Photo Story for months and have created over 100 shows
that I could upload to my site, Now that I have upgraded to #3 I get
notified it is corrupt to remove, defrag and download again. When it gets to
view show, it will not open into media player and have tried it with 9 &
10., And now they are failing to upload to website. Never had this problem
with old photo story. Hope some one has some answers as I am getting ready to
dump the program again and reload it. If that does not work then maybe a
program can be suggested that I can use other than PS3

Hmmm, there is no "View Show" option in PhotoStory...

What is the exact wording of the error message?

Are you trying to view a project file or a .wmv file?

Is the file an older file created with PS2 or one
that you just created in PS3?

I guess you were using PS2? FWIW...both
programs can be installed on the same computer.

Were you using the free version or Plus! Digital
Media Edition?

Did you download PS3 to your computer
before installing or did you install from the net?

I would suggest doing a System Restore to a
time before you installed PS3.

Then...
Download the program to your desktop...
Disconnect from the net...
Disable your virus scanner...
Close any programs that are running...
Create a System Restore Point...
Now try installing PS3 again.

As for uploading to your website...that would
be done after you save the file to your hard
drive as a .wmv....this is not a PhotoStory issue.

I will try as you suggested I have restored and turned everything off before
downloading. All the shows I am having problems with were created in
PS3.There is a view show at the end but when I get to that point and click
view , I get notice the file is corrupt. I am not using Plus.
I will try it again and do it exacctly as you said.

How...exactly did you try to open the movies?
The steps are important.

There is a view show at the end
================================
No...there is not. What is says is:

"View your story"

Exact wording is important...it helps us
determine exact versions and many times
it helps in finding a solution.

Please post the exact error message.

Also try creating a story with different images....
also it may help if you convert the images to
..bmp before importing.

Ok John I did as you said and shut everything down before opening and loading
photo story, then constructed another short show, when I finished and it
asked if I wanted to save my work I said yes it started saving, then popped
up with "files corrupted in photo story, remove and re-install". Well I did
not do it, instead I went into add remove and let the wizard to the repair.
Now I can open the show in email when sent from the video folder. "view your
story" still does not open up . I can go to video files folder and open the
show in media player. I thank you for what you suggested it was very useful
to me gettinng this far.
