Photo Output on Canon s900

I'm at a complete loss when it comes to my Canon s900 photo printer.
Sometimes it prints very nice pictures that are equivalent to the original
digital image. Other times it prints darker images with a blue hue and
other times it will print parts of the picture correctly but other parts of
the picture will be completely wrong (i.e. maroon instead of red, green
instead of blue). It will go through these variations from print to print,
and in unpredictable. Print head cleaning and maintenance does not seem to
affect the outcome.

I am printing on Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy 4x6 paper using third party
inks. I find the same issue no matter what application I use to print
with - either Easy-Print, Photorecord or my editing software, Ulead's
Photoimpact XL. I thought I had this problem solved by manually adjusting
the colors throught the printer driver but this does not work across all
pictures and is hit or miss.

I would appreciate any suggestions or comments on this matter.

Thank you,
Eric

This seems like an obvious question, but have you tried printing these
same pictures with real Canon ink? I have printed hundreds of
pictures on my S900 and have had no problems while using genuine Canon
ink.
