Photo gallery reinstall

Using FP 2003 I find that I have disabled the attributes of my photo
galleries. I, without thinking, performed a two directional feed with my
server. This turned all of my galleries into individual thumbnails, and made
it impossible to add additional photos in the gallery format. I would really
like to be able to just back track to the original photo gallery, but cannot
find it as such in my site file. Is there a way to fix this without having to
remake the galleries, adding all of the titles and descriptions? Since my
site is a photography site, this is the bulk of the site, and I need to be
able to easily add new photos. I have done this before and hope I have
learned NEVER to do it again, but would like to be able to fix the problem in
something less than the HOURS it would take to remake virtually the whole
site. Is there something that I am missing when I select insert, and from
file? Should I be able to find the gallery itself saved somewhere. This
originally happened several days ago, so I cannot just do an undo.
Thanks for all help

I've just looked at your site. Another reason to no longer use the
PhotoGallery component is that you will have more choices about how and
where the larger version will be shown. Now you have no choice. Give special
attention to JAlbum that I mention in the article. I have a number of
examples of its use on my own site ... just this week I used it 4 times to
show Fall Colors in Colorado: http://www.eleanorstravels.com/index.html
