photo gallery locks up system

I have 2 sites that use Frontpages photo galleries &
update them regularaly. Bought a brand new Sony vaio &
installed FP normally and all systems seem to work ok
except for photo gallery. Dialog screen looks ok but when
I make updates and push "OK" button , system locks up &
have to turn off computer and reboot. Have reinstalled FP
twice, installed all updates from Microsoft & Office &
Sony. All other programs work ok far as I know...Help!

Try recreating your gallery - often times they become corrupt on editing

Thanks for the idea...I went so far as to create a new
blank page & had the same problem. I can create the
gallery no problem . I can left click page properties and
get the edit dialog box and I can make any change except
that I can't add a new picture without a lockup or I
can't click "ok" on the box without a system lockup that
requires a reboot of computer...I am stumped..Help!

Have you also tried the usual repairs
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Open FP & run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks
3) Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins
4) Run a Repair / Reinstall on FP (Help Repair)
5) Reinstall IE
6) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, and MS Office

Thanks for the suggestions..I will try them later tonite.
I have thought of upgrading to FP2003...would this be a
bad idea if I'm having issues with FP2002 or is the
update a stand alone program ? Again..I appreciate your
help !

I dumped all temp & hidden files, recalculated hyperlinks
& reinstalled FP again with the same results.
Photogallery still crashes system when the "ok" button is
pushed. Up until then, everything is normal....I dont
know what else to do...do you think the FP 2003 is the
answer or do ya think I could have the same problem with
it...Help !

I have a similar problem.

My Frontpage 2003 photo gallery is extremely extremely slow at adding photos
(when it's generating the thumbnails). It's so slow it's as if the
application is hung.

Scenario: Open a web. On a new blank page I select Insert, Picture, New
Photo Gallery. In the Photo Gallery box I select Add, Pictures from files,
and specify some .jpgs in the web, and hit open.

At this point the Photo Gallery tries to process the pictures and Frontpage
2003 writes "Processing file blah blah blah" on the status line. It takes
Frontpage 2003 several minutes to process each photo.

Notes:
1) The Frontpage 2003 client is on a fast box, connected by a fully
functioning 100mbps Ethernet to the server. (Normal file copies between the
two machines happen at normal 100mbps Ethernet speed...aka fast.)
2) The server is windows Server 2003 with Frontpage 2002 server extensions
installed.
3) No one is using either machine except for me.
4) When using a Frontpage 2003 client running directly on the Windows 2003
server, the PhotoGallery processes the photos at a rapid clip (about 1
second per photo). The operation scenario is the same...open web, insert new
photo gallery on blank web page.
5) Previously the client box had Frontpage 2002 installed. Doing the same
photogallery operation with Frontpage 2002, against the same web site on the
same server, was fast.

Any ideas?
