Photo Gallery in FP2000

I'm trying to create a photo gallery in Frontpage2000 and found
instructions, but when I follow them, something is missing.

The instructions say to open a page > Insert > Web Component > Photo
Gallery.

First off I don't have a "Web Component," just a "Component." And
"Photo Gallery" is not listed.

Any suggestions?

Upgrade to FP2002 or FP2003. The photogallery is not included in
FP2000.

In my opinion, you are better off without the FrontPage version of the
photo gallery, which does not render well except in Internet Explorer.
Try using jAlbum instead - http://jalbum.net

The Photo Gallery component wasn't available until the release of FP2002.

I don't think the Photo Gallery component was in FrontPage 2000. So I think
the instructions you are reading is for a later version.
