When a thumbnail picture is clicked on, the larger
picture of my image is automatically displayed, how do I
get it so that when the thumbnail is clicked, it opens a
new window with the larger image?

You have to make that separate, individual page to put the larger image on,
then link to it from the thumbnail.

Just right-click on the thumbnail, go to hyperlink properties, click on
target frame and set it to New Window.
