Photo Finishing Programs!

I know you guys know everything that's why I always ask for your opinions!
I'm looking at two photo finishing programs
GIMP and PhotoFiltre

Both look wonderful!
Wondering which program you folks like best.
GIMP looks rather complicated with all its "PlugIns" and I mean they seem to
have a TON of them and None of them makes much sense to me. I guess if I
studied it enough I could figure it all out. But the program looks powerful
to say the least.

PhotoFiltre also seems to have a good deal of interesting features to play
with! Maybe you folks know of a program that even better then these two!

I have a digital camera and I just love to play around with it! It looks
like you can really have some fun taking digital pictures and changing them
all around with these software programs.

Thanks.

I think you'll find PhotoFiltre more intuitive. The GIMP, IMNSHO, is
heterogeneous and overly complicated. Have a look at Digital Camera
Enhancer: http://www.mediachance.com/digicam/enhancer.htm
It's tops for digi-cam pics.

IMO, PhotoStudio 2000 offers the best compromise between features and
ease-of-use. www.arcsoft.com

The only Photo*studio* link I can see, tells me something about a
"demoversion"? And then there is an Update, but this requires an
existing software.

The *free* "software" download is for Photo*impression*, which seems to
offer photographic cliparts only.

So where is the *real* link?

I posted the URL for the Freeware. . .
I'm starting to wonder why I bothered. . .

Please do [be bothered]. The OP might not 'get it' but others do. I
just DL'd the prog. It looks nice, thanks.

<sheepish grin> I was being a grouch. ISTM that G. could have clicked
the link instead of posting a question. That would have been easier all
around. That's what I *should* have said in my post.

Get and archive the Photostudio 2.0SE and Photoprinter LE if you want
them - I've seen it mentioned that Photoisland is closing, though I'm
not sure how accurate that is.

Studio 2.0SE is called "trial", from when they offered it as a trial
of the bigger version, but it's the complete "bundle" version as
included with some cameras and scanners - one thing it brings to the
party is single-point panorama matching, with progressive blend - not
great, but a little better than pure hand stitching.

Printer LE is quite handy as a photo paper saver, as it has quite a
variety of one-size and mixed size layouts.
