Phisical Memory

Hi There...

I've Diagnostic Manager (Network diagnostic software) that tells me that I
should increase the phisical memory of my computer. I also have SQL Server
installed on my server that "eats" very much memory.... How can I resolve
mey problem? How can I increase my phisical memory (where)?

You increase your physical memory by purchasing some new memory from your
favourite computer store, taking off the lid of the server and plugging it
in. Physical memory is not an operating system setting.

"Physical" memory can be increased only by increasing (adding) the RAM.
Maybe you won't have to do it, but you can simply increase the virtual
memory (pagefile). This lets you run more number of applications, although a
little slower.
How to increase the virtual memory depends on the OS that you're running -
in WinNT / Win2000, you can go to the "System" control panel and increase
the pagefile (requires a reboot).

Sorry, I didn't make my point....
I know phisical memory is really phisical... we can touch it ...
My problem consists in increase the Virtual Memory (sorry...). I have
created 3 partitions in a RAID System od 3 HD. The problem is, i can only
change the VM in the 1rst partition.... This is very hard to explain in
English (i'm portuguese), i hope You understand it..

When you say you can only increase paging on the first partition, what is happening when you try to change the page file on the
other partitions? Is it access denied or some other error? If your paging file is double the amount of your RAM and you still have
problems, then more RAM is probably the best option. You might try this site http://babelfish.altavista.com/ to help with
translating. It makes some mistakes but it doesn't do too badly.

lima de página nas outras divisórias? É acesso negado ou algum outro erro? Se sua lima paginando for a a quantidade dobro de sua RAM
e você tiver ainda problemas, a seguir mais RAM é provavelmente a mais melhor opção. Você pôde tentar este local
http://babelfish.altavista.com/ ajudar com traduzir. Faz alguns erros mas não faz demasiado mal.
