Phantom messages to send

Outlook ( 2003 ) kept trying to send 4 e-mail messages but there are no items
in the Outbox to be sent. I read the messages in this section related to
this issue and installed OutlookSpy and followed the procedure to "delete
read receipts" and it worked on two of the four messages.

When I completed the final step in the OutlookSpy procedure on the two
phantom meesages that it did not work on, it returned the following message:

IMsgStore::AbortSubmit() returned MAPI_E_UNABLE_TO_ABORT

Now I have two phantom messages.

Any additional ideas.

Put Outlook in Offline mode, restart Outlook and try again.
