Phantom mail folder

T

Tim Scott Mathews

I tried Outlook Connector but decided against using it. During the setup,
for some reason, it setup two new mail folders for my MSN address but one of
them didn't work. Clicking it gets a prompt "the set of folders couldn't be
opened" along with a "show help" prompt. This is what the help screen
shows:

This error usually appears if the OST or PST file you are using
is:

Unavailable

Protected with file permissions

On a share on a server and the network is down Corrupt

To correct this problem, store the OST or PST file on the local
computer.

You may also want to run the scanost.exe and scanpst.exe tools to verify
file integrity.

More information about this error message online.

I tried to run scanpst.ext and it did find some errors in the PST file but
this one wasn't fixed or deleted. I also tried running scanost.ext but got
a prompt that I wasn't running the network version of Outlook.

AND, I cannot delete the folder. I just get that prompt I mentioned about
not being able to open the folders. I hoped uninstalling the Outlook
Connector would rectify the problem but it only automatically removed the
"real" MSN folder and left this phantom.

Any thoughts on now I can remove it?

Thanks
