I copied a directory and it's files from one computer onto another via
wireless network. The directory appears on the new computer, but when I try
to access it, it says the path can't be found. When I try to delete it, it
says I don't have access. When I try to change the attrib from read only, it
doesn't change. I can see the directory in Windows Explorer and via the
command prompt dir command, but don't know how to get rid of it.

I had several files that wouldn't open that I put on the computer in the
same manner, but I was able to delete those. I don't know what to do to get
this removed. HELP PLEASE :-(
Carol

I would think a few approaches:

(1) Do you have access right to the directory? Check your access right for
full control/
(2) Unplug AP or wireless router and re-plug it to refresh its memory
(3) Go to the computer with the directory, click the folder and re-set your
sharing permission
Good luck

Doesn't anyone know the secret to removing this folder? I remember this
happening to me with a file once, many years ago, and someone was able to
help me get it removed. I don't know what to do to get this phantom folder
off my computer so I can properly replace it.
Carol

Well, if no one knows how to get rid of the directory, can anyone guide me
to a place or person that might be able to help?
Thanks,
Carol

If no one knows the answer to this problem, can you maybe direct me to
somewhere or someone that might? I can't copy the folder to this computer as
long as this bad folder exist.
Thanks,
carol

Try booting in safe mode & then try to delete the directory
If Safe Mode doesn't work, then try doing a System Restore to before you
copied the directory.

Thanks Malke, for the suggestions. I'll try the safe mode. I can't do the
system restore because too much has gone on with this new system since I
tried copying the directory. I appreciate that you at least came up with
something to try.
