PfModNt service failed to start

I seem unable to restore to a previous time, the event
viewer shows the above message with the description being,
"The PfModNT service failed to start due to the following
error:the system cannot find the file specified"

This problem only occurred today, any advice please ?

Hi,

Start/run services.msc, scroll down the list to that service and
double-click it, it should tell you what file it is looking for to run. At a
guess, I'd say it's probably related to your sound card.
