Pfbackup.exe fails to install

Howard Sartori

Pfbackup.exe fails to (install) run: “Setup has detected that you
already have a version of Personal Folder Backup installed on this machine.
Before this download can be installed you must first uninstall.” I have
uninstalled it already and can find no trace of it in the registry or
Outlook Options/Add-ins.
Then, “Are you sure that you want to uninstall this product?” Answer
YES, but then the Windows Installer reports this action is only valid for
products that are currently installed.”
Outbak.dll is not in the C:\Microsoft Office/OFFICE11 /ADDINS folder.
Searched registry for outbak.dll and removed 1 entry.
Previously there had been Office problems and Office 2003 was
“repaired/reinstalled”.
Windows Installer Cleanup shows no trace of pfbackup.
What do I do now? Thanks. /Howard
