personal.xlsm issues in excel 2k7

I have a user running Excel 2007 on a Vista system that is running into
several issues. See below.

1- His Personal.xlsm file in VBA is set up so that it automatically opens
each time he opens Excel (so his macros are available each time he opens
Excel).

2-Error Message: Excel experienced a serious problem with the
c:\users\Tom\appdata\roaming\microsoft\internet explorer\quick launch\excel
vba\personal.xlsb' add-in.

3- Once the user disables the add-in his Personal.xlsm file will no longer
open in Excel unless he open the file manually.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

In xl2003 menus, you can use:
Help|about MS Excel|Disabled Items.

In xl2007, I _think_ it's under:
Office button|Excel Options|Addins
select disabled items from the dropdown at the bottom of that window.

You can "undisable" it--but if the file is really bad, you may find that you
have to delete it and use a backup version of the file.

The add-in was disabled. The personal.xlsm file was tested on another system
and is not bad. There seems to be another issue.

If excel disabled the file, then excel thinks there is something wrong with the
file.

I'd delete that file and replace it with a backup.
