Personal.xls won't open or record any more

Hi everyone
My Excel application ended abnormally and I had to recuperate my Personal.xls that is loaded with code modules. But the problem now is that I cannot record any macro any more and it does not open when I open Excel. If I try to recreate a new one, it will not allow recording nor will it open by itself even though I put it in the "\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART" folder. What else could I do
Of course, I rebooted a few times and restarted Excel. Nothing will do
I use Excel 2003 (french canadian version) and Windows XP Personal

What are your security settings set to? If High, change to Medium.

Also...........

Click on Help>About and hit "Disabled items".

Is your Personal.xls listed there? If so try the "enable" button.

I enabled my PERSONAL.XLS with the Help/About - Disabled Items button and it worked. Thank you very much
About my security setting, it is at low because I do a lot of macros and my computer is well protected. I scan everything I receive that may be harmful
