I want to be a social worker because I don't want to have to go through alot
of college to get a real education. I would rather be an under qualified,
uneducated person that has the authority to ruin peoples lives based on a
State or County appointed title.
Actually, it's nowhere near accurate (my wife was a social worker until she
got out of the public sector because of the stress). Just FYI, to be a
social worker in most state you need to have attended college and received
at *least* a bachelor's degree.
A more accurate one might be "I want to be a social worker to get paid very
little to try and help people in the way-too-large caseload I'll be
assigned, and to have everybody freak out on me the moment something goes
wrong with one of the cases that I simply didn't have time to properly
track."

And in most places, to get a job you need a Master's degree (MSW)

Yeah, and the typical response to any breakdown is to require even more
paperwork, further reducing the amount of time available to spend actually
doing something useful. But without reducing the caseload...
