Perplexing CD Drive Problem

Running XP Home w/SP2, 512 RAM on Dell 4600. D Drive (CD-RW) has
operated without prior problem to include new install of NSW 2005
Premier (replacing NSW Pro 2003) on 26th.
Found Norton System Dr and System Info not installed; reply from
Symantec advised they are not part of Standard Install for 2005 and
Custom install needed. Uninstalled the Standard and attempted a Custom
install as directed.
Drive spins CD but will not display contents automatically nor will
music CDs play. Now faced with accessing My Cptr/D drive each time to
start the player. Device Manager tells me the hardware is functioning
correctly; lack of technical expertise sends me here for any
assistance someone can offer to resolve problem.

1. Go back to Norton Support.
2. Whose/Which System Info are you speaking of? If Norton, as I don't use
any of their products, read number 1.

Right click My Computer, select explore, right click your cd drive (D:),
select properties, select autoplay.
