I would like to know how you can restrict a user to use certain options in
WinXP like disabling the start buttom, and the volume controler and such
things. from where i can do that. thank you for understanding that it's
urgent.
Thank you

Hi,

Permissions are used to control access to files and folders, not functions.
Functionality is defined by policy editors. In order to have them, you need
to have WinXP Pro (they're not included in a WinXP Home system). While they
work in a stand-alone system, they really are designed for use in a domain.
To use them, open a run prompt and type gpedit.msc for the group policy
editor, and secpol.msc for the local policy editor. Explore the settings,
but be careful on what you select to enable.

For a WinXP Home system, there are a few tools that may help you. There is
the Shared Computer Toolkit here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sharedaccess/default.mspx

Then there is Doug Knox's tool:
