Hey,

Need some help.

All of a sudden when I try and open a program/perform
control/admin tasks, Xp tells me

"Windows can not find the specified device, path or, file.
You may not have the appropriate permissions to access
the file"

Anybody know what the problem might be.

Ta,

Ian

Make sure you are part of the local admin and check
permissions.

More likely, you recently had a virus, which your AV software removed, but
didn't correct the Registry entries related to it. See www.dougknox.com,
Win XP Fixes, File Assocation Fixes, EXE and LNK File Association Fixes.
