Permissions

Hi all,
I inherited a database that I am working on because the
last person left......etc

I am trying to do certain things, like replicating,
hooking up to VISIO(for ER diagrams) and other stuff.

I am getting the message"You do not have the necessary
permissions to use the 'C:\....\...\*.mdb' object. Have
your system administrator or the person who created this
object establish the appropriate permissions for you"

The db is a front end back end style. I can get in and
make all the necessary changes in the front end (queries,
forms, and reports etc).

This message is indicative of not being connected to the correct mdw file.
Usually if security was set properly you would not be able to get into the
database at all. If you can open the mdb front-end can you open up the
security areas? Are there security setup for individuals or groups? If so,
are you a member of the Admin group?
