Permissions vs. Delegates

Can you tell me the difference between giving a co-worker access to my
Exchange Calendar, Contact, Task throght the Properties dialog box and the
Permissions tab vs. the Tools\Options\Delegate
 
If you use the Delegate dialog, you are granting more than simple folder permissions. You are also granting the other person the ability to send messages on your behalf.
