Permission problems

I have a peer to peer configuration everyone is on windows 2000 pro. My
problem is mapping to a folder. The (account) workstation holds all the user
names and permissions. The work station (Tracy) ***(just rebuilt with all the
updates and service packs)*** can’t map to (account) folder mail without a
problem but can’t map to the sales folder, when I map to sales it maps ok. It
doesn’t open the folder and show the files, It doesn’t ask for user name
password, but when you click on the mapped folder you get permission denied.
I when as far as to give the user administrator rights on the both the
account workstation and Tracy workstation and I get the same error.
What can I look for??

Not sure I followed most of this. But for permissions/rights check the
following:

1. Make sure that in the course of the rebuild the user did not end up with
a different name or password on Tracy from the corresponding account on the
accounts workstation.

2. Check both Share and NTFS (security) permissions on the shared folder.
Either the user account must have both Share and NTFS permissions, or the
user must be a member of a group which has Share permissions and a member of
a group which has NTFS permission. Also, neither the user nor any group of
which the user is a member can have Deny permission.

3. On the accounts workstation go to: Administrative tools/Local Security
Policy - Expand Local Policies and click on User Rights Assignment. Make
sure that the user or group has the Access this computer from the network
right and does not have the Deny access to this computer from the network
right.

Doug,

I will checkout my setting and see if I missed something today.
