hi
I know how to set a rule to permanently delete junk messages before they
reach your inbox but how can I do this for multiple messages?
Thanks

You can't do it automatically for multiple messages since the Rules Wizard
and Junk E-mail filter work on messages individually as they are downloaded.

What are you trying to accomplish to multiple messages? You can highlight
and delete them permanently easily by holding down the Shift key while
deleting them

In that case a client side solution won't help; you'll need a server side
solution if you want to prevent that Outlook needs to download them.

Login to your web based mail client provided by your ISP and see if they
offer server side Junk Email filtering. If you cannot find it you might want
to contact your ISP about where to find it or how to get it.
