Is there a way to highlight junk mail and wipe it off my computer without
putting it in my "deleted items" file? I don't see a reason to compile email
that I would never possibly want to access.

While there is an up arrow on the SHIFT button, it is a weird and confusing
way to refer to it...
SHIFT+DELETE will delete an item and skip the Deleted Items folder.

If the messages are in your Junk E-mail folder, right-click the folder and
choose "Empty Junk E-mail Folder". Otherwise, hold Shift while you click or
press Delete.
