Permanenrt left click

In all sheets that I open, when I left click on a cell Excel seems to think
that I have the mouse held down permanently. Any movement just increases
the selected area. No mouse clicks do anything. Thats all I can do, I
have the kill the program ... so Excel is unusable.

I'm using the XP version of Excel on an Me system.

It has started to happen after I ran a sheet with some fancy macros ... so
perhaps there is a setting changed.

Please help!

Sidonie,

This is probably Extended Selection. Look for "EXT" in the status bar. Use
the F8 key to toggle it off/on.

Thanks, I just tried but "EXT" was off and toggling it makes no difference.

Other ideas very welcome!
