Performance when Multitasking with Vista Ultimate 64

This is my first post here, and hopefully it'll get noticed as a notch of
usability issues with Vista. I'm currently running DDR400 CAS2 2GB in Double
Data Rate mode, AMD Athlon 64 x2 3200+, x850pro pci-express, and my hard
drives are in a hardware (asus A8R32 MVP Deluxe) RAID setup with Vista on a
solo drive, and most gaming/video editing files on a 320GB RAID0 setup. I
mention all of this because: it is VERY common for Vista to freeze, up to 3
minutes at this point, while multitasking with 3 or more applications going.
All the while it shows that the Hard Drive is peaking at performance, and
even if so, shouldn't the system stutter before freezing? I'm not really
considering this a feature at the moment since I can't even open Task Manager
during this time to shut down a program if need be. I also had to do mutliple
attempts to install vista to have it install in the right location (the RC1
Beta had a weird drive partition setup I needed to remove), and on 2
occasions Vista froze and had the hard drives "peaked." (this time in
reference to the HD activity light at the front of the case).

If anyone knows a tweak, I'd be more than welcome to hear it, otherwise,
please just rack this up as a issue that will hopefully be fixed in a near
future update. Thanks!

load your programs up. then open Task Manager click on the SHOW for all, users button, then click on CPU column header and watch it for a few minutes to see what might be the cause.
