Performance System Monitor

I want to monitor the speed (bites/sec) of my dialup connection. I added
a couple Bites received/sec but the lines do not show any activity when
I am downloading something. From which Performance Object should I
select the Bites received/sec?

Network interface should do it. You may need to change the scale.

Right-click the counter > Properties > Data (tab) > Scale (dropdown box)

Right-click the counter > Properties >Graph (tab) > Change maximum and
minimum in scale

Sorry, I still can't solve the problem. What values would you suggest I
insert in the Scale and in the Graph so I can follow my 56Kbps modem?

Try a large number in the Scale dropdown box on the Data tab eg 100000
(after clicking on the relevant counter on that tab too). Then try doing
something like connecting to a website address, and go back to the graph to
see if there's any activity.
