Performance Monitor - 2nd Post

Compaq Presario 2.6 Celeron with XP Home installed. Computer runs slow. CPU
usage is sometimes running at 28 percent without any applications running.
Anti-virus and Adaware run several times without any results. When I opened
the Performance Monitor, these objects were already running: Page/Sec, Avg.
Disk Queue Length, and %Processor Time. When I delete the objects, the
monitor stops running. When I close and reopen monitor, the same objects are
running in the monitor. I have little experience with XP Home but I have
never seen this in XP Pro which I work with daily. If I remember correctly,
performance monitor can hog resources if it is left running continuously.
How can I shut this down.

PS: I ran through the Task Manager and identified the majority of the
processes running. There are still a couple of unknowns but they don't seem
to be hogging any resources.

Computer run slow? Do you have 512MB RAM? If not then put in first before
you tell your computer is slow.

Yes it ran slow and I boosted the memory but the original question was about
"Performance Monitor." It appears that it is running those objects by
default.
