Performance Logs

i need to setup a performance logs on my machine to
monitore a machine that is running win 2000 server. I
have Admin rights on this machine, I can see the machine
over the network. When I setup the counters under the
Performance logs root then it works, BUT when I try and
set it up under the counter folder it does not start even
if I Rightclick and goto start. It gives me an error to
use the run as command but that also does not work.

ANY Help in this matter would be very very very much
