Performance issues...NEED HELP..

Hello.

I have the following problem ;

When I had a Novell 5.1 server running an accounting
program, the client's worked quite fast under Windows 98.

When we replaced the server, with a bigger one (the old
one was just a PIII 533, with SCSI-II) it performed much
slower (the operating system was changed to Windows 2000
Server.)

The new machine is P4 Xeon at 2,4 Ghz. It has 1 Gb of RAM
and U320 SCSI disks.

But it performs noticable slower on the clients.

Checked DNS, Checked everything, changed caching, etc. But
really nothing seems to improve.

How is it possible, that an OLD novell 5.1 server,
outperforms this machine with ease ?

Is it, because we also use the Novell CLient to keep our
connectivity ?

Help us, because on this way, i cannot sell this kind of
products.

If clients are running both TCP/IP and IPX/SPX, this may be a protocol
binding order issue. See:
