After some upgrades my performance went to pot. I find
that the fxssvc.exe process is using 95-98% of my CPU.
when I am not using fax at all and I even uninstalled the
fax service. This process still reloads on startup and
uses all the power. When I end the process I get a
caution message and then the performance appears much
better and near normal. After this started I have had
several 'freezes'.
I had this several months ago and was able to correct it
by removing several start up applications and using 'Go
Back' ro revert the drive to before the auto update to
windows. I was not fortunate this time and had no revert
point before the problem started.
Any suggestions?
Harry

.
Shut off your fax service(since you removed it)from
control panel>admin tools>services. Or at least change
the startup from here from automatcally to manual that
way it will only run if you do fax something in the
future. check out this link
