Perfect Disk and error 0x80070001

I had to re-install this excellent defragmenter and now, if I try to go
beyond the opening screen, I get this error message. Help at Raxco have made
several suggestions but none have worked as yet. Googling for the error
comes up with lots of hits but these have so far been either unhelpful or
irrelevant.

I'm running XP Pro and PD formerly worked OK

Can anyone help and advise please?
 
Problem solved. Help at Raxco pointed me to antispyware. Spybot S & D found
remnants of the SpywareBot program which I thought I had eliminated. Deleted
4 entries and re-booted and all is well. Poetic justice!
