I appreciate this is basic maths - not my hot point!!

I need to return a monitary value as a percentage.

So say £270.00 - £95.00 = £175.00 therefore what % is the 175 of 270

This will be a recurring calulation for varying amounts.

Basically I am calculating the gross margin, minus overheads etc. t
get the net
profit and then show this as a percentage.

I just cant get my head around the formula.

Any help would be very welcome and many thanks
Anni

Hi

Just use =175/270 and format the answer as a percentage.
(It's 64.81% by the way)

Andy.

If 270 is in A1, 95 in B1, 175 in C1, then make an extra
cell with the formula C1/A1 and show this as a percentage.
