Yes, there have recently been a lot of studies that have shown how poorly
the Celerons perform vs. their Pentium siblings. In the long run you'll be
happier to have the performance of the P4.
Depends on what you plan to do with the laptop. A Celeron would be fine for
normal Office apps.
