*.pdf 'save as' window

Having huge dramas here. Everytime I start up my PC at home, as the desktop
appears, a new window comes up asking me to 'save as' and the name of the
file is *.pdf. Not to sure whether this is a form of malware or what.
Everytime i search for it, i am told it doesn't exist. Since having this
problem, IE always struggles to load. Longest time has been around 5-6
minutes before the IE window appears. Have tried spyware searches amongst
other things. I have had to constantly cancel this and it is annoying me
beyond control. O/S is XP Pro.

Check in Msconfig for any oddities.
(Start-Run-MSCONFIG-Startup tab)
If you cannot see anything in Msconfig then:

Start-Run-msinfo32
Click the + beside Software Environment to expand.
Click Startup Programs
Ctrl+A to Select All, Ctrl+C to Copy.
Paste that information in your message.
