I am trying to download the Supplemental Readings that accompany the Absolute
Beginner's Video Series for learning Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition. I am
using the links provided through Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition. The Word
logo appears, so I assume the readings are being loaded into Word. The
instructions say I need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader, which I do.

The download appears to proceed normally, but it appears in code and symbols
rather than in readable format. How can I convert it into readable format?

Word cannot open PDF files. If you click on a link to a PDF
file, and the file opens with Word instead of Acrobat Reader,
then you need to change the file association for PDF files in
Windows as described in http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307859
"How to change file associations in Windows XP".
