PDA and MS outlook 2002

David Wells

This is our problem hope someone can help!

When we enter a phone number MS outlook format it as follows

(250)951-xxxx

The xxxx are 4 the last digets of a phone number

Now when we upload it to the PDA it can only display 12 digits on a
line so the last digit of the phone number appears on the next line.

Is there any way in MS outlook to change the format of the phone
number to 250-951-xxxx . I have looked in the help menu etc and now
have lost most of my hair. As it one of the touch units to enter all
the info manually on the unit is just not a option.

Thank You

David,
Where is it that you are seeing the phone number on two lines ? I am
running Outlook 2003 with my ipaq 4355 (Pocket PC 2003 Premium) and also
another older ipaq 3635 running with Outlook 2002 (the version that came
from HP with the unit) and its running Pocket PC 2002 and neither of these I
have that problem. I am looking at the CONTACTS list on the PDA's. Is that
where you see the multi-line display ?

We have a Sharp PDA just bought. and after uploaded phone number from
Outlook 2002 they show up as follows.

Wells

H:(250) 951-XXX
X

So if MS Outlook 2002 would not add the brackets around the 250 the
PDA we have could show the phone number on one line.

Not sure on this one as I know about the Windows CE based PDA's, but not the
Sharp's (unless you have the older clamshell Windows 3.0 Professional) In
playing with Outlook, I have not seen a method to skip the ( ) around the
area code. Hopefully someone more informed on Outlook could step in here and
say.
