PCMCIA Notebook expansion slot damage

Randy Gamble

Does anyone know if the PCMCIA Notebook slot can be repaired. I somehow
damaged the contacts in the slot. Now my wireless notebook adapter will
not work. My 2.0 USB expansion card will work with my Linksys USB
WUSB11b adapter will work and connect at 11 mps, but my WUSB54G will
only connect at 24 mps. The Wireless adapter WPC54G connected at 54 mps
before the damage occurred.

Thanks
Randy

Well the XP operating system can't fix it. Contact the laptop
manufacturer or a competent computer repair shop for diagnosis and repair.

Bob, thanks, it's the physical parts, just wanted to know if it could be
repaired. I will check on local repair.

it can be fixed if the pins are not broken off if they are you will need a
new motherboard.

Jim, afraid of that... they were bent and we straightened the pins, but
they won't stay... ;-(

Thanks
